Welcome to MrsHodgson.com

Welcome

If you’ve found yourself here then it’s because you’ve come across the link to my blog somewhere online.  I’m literally scattered all over, no order at the moment.  There is a lot of work to do here.  I have been in a blogging limbo for a very long time, meaning to rebrand after losing my old blogging name to a very unsavoury website, *chuckles* I won’t leave a link.

After spending so long working on my old blog and getting it exactly how I wanted it, I just didn’t have the resolve to begin again.  However, like a phoenix rising from the ashes (or a really tired Mum, fumbling at a keyboard through bleary eyes) I am determined to begin again.  I will be adding in content from my old blogs, because as always, I blog predominantly to have a place to keep all our memories.  All the little milestones along this crazy journey of parenthood.

Anything Goes

I am a big supporter of ANYTHING GOES when it comes to parenting (obviously I’m not talking about anything that can harm children) but there are so many different methods and perspectives on parenting.  I believe if it works for you, if it works for your children, then go for it.  Breast or bottle, working parents or stay at home, we’re all just doing the best that we can, the way that we know how and the way that works at the time.  There are so many different seasons in life and in parenting.  Bottle feeding may have worked best for you and your first child, breast feeding may have worked for you and your second, I believe that FED is best.  Us parents need to all come together and support each other, Mums, Dads, legal guardians lets have less judgement and more celebration of our differences.

I believe I have always been authentic and blogged true to who I am, and the voice you hear on the page, is reflective of the person writing at the time.  So, if you notice different styles and tones throughout this blog, it’s just indicative of the journey I have been on.  This is why I decided to rebrand to just my name “Mrs Hodgson”.  All that you find here, is just me.  Just my thoughts and opinions on life and circumstances.  Nothing is given as fact.

Mrs Hodgson

I’m not even the biggest fan of my name (sorry husband and in-laws).  Have you ever seen the episode of Desperate Housewives where Bree is explaining to her husband Orson why she uses her dead husbands name for publishing instead of his?  “Van de Kamp (lyrically) trips off the tongue, almost musical, Hodge (deeper for emphasis), sounds like I’m plunging a toilet”.  I feel this way about my name, Mrs Hodgson, BUT, this is me.

This blog will be a place for all shades of myself.  Predominantly parenting focused, as being at home this is a big part of my life and I want this to be a go to place for our children to recall childhood memories as they age, and when they are grown.  Also, you’ll find health and fitness as I’m on an epic journey at the moment to lose 18 stones.  I’m 4 stone in and have a long way to go, but I’ve made enough of a dent that I’m no longer house bound.

There’ll also be a lot of travel, day trips for families, as we are home educating and aim to travel as much as finance and my husbands work allows around his schedule.  We have a lot of exciting trips coming up and I can’t wait to share them with you, make amazing memories, and provide any tips or hacks we find.  As travelling with a young family is an adventure all in itself.

Bare Bones

So, in light of all this being a journey.  I’m publishing this blog, as it is, with the bare bones, and it will become more informative, and more easy to browse through as time allows me to fill it and sort through all the technicalities behind the scenes.

If you’re still here.  Thank you.  I aim to be as transparent as possible as I fumble through life, and motherhood.

Please feel free to leave comments, I love conversation and am open to discuss anything I share on here.
